Full-Time Staff Accountant for Established CPA Firm—Seattle area or remote

We have an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant, who will be responsible for all bookkeeping and accounting matters for Akopyan & Co. clients, and must meet the highest standards of professionalism, responsiveness, and quality.

Qualifications

MUST have 2 years of prior accounting experience and/or associate’s degree in related field = experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office = strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy = ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously, switching between tasks and clients throughout each day = excellent response time = willingness to appear on camera for remote calls = a desire for more than just a job, but a career that allows for growth while having some fun, too.

In addition, knowledge of Thomson CS Tax and Accounting products is highly preferred.

The Staff Accountant will:

  • Review and prepare client accounting data
  • Review monthly financial reports
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Adjust journal entries
  • Support payroll, including check writing, accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Prepare year-end W2s and 1099s
  • Prepare sales tax returns
  • Analyze and reconcile accounts
  • Perform other duties as necessary and/or assigned

Our team provides important guidance and advice that often goes beyond the numbers. The right person for this role will be comfortable meeting with clients (on camera if remote) and have strong communication skills.
